(14) Operation mode change request area
You can change the operation mode of the AJ71PB92D/A1SJ71PB92D by writing the required
operation mode to this area and turning on the operation mode change request signal Y11.
You can also specify whether that setting is registered onto E
2
PROM or not.
To choose the required operation mode, set any of the following values to the operation mode
change request area.
(At power-on or CPU reset, the invalid value = FFFEh enters the operation mode change request
area. If you have accidentally turned on the operation mode change request signal Y11, the
AJ71PB92D/A1SJ71PB92D detects an error and the operation mode is not changed.)

The operation mode is changed to the normal service mode without the
mode registered onto E

PROM.
0001h
The operation mode is changed to the parameter setting mode without the
mode registered onto E
2
PROM.
000Eh
The operation mode is changed to the extended service mode without the
mode registered onto E
2
PROM.
0100h
The operation mode is changed to the normal service mode with the mode
registered onto E
2
PROM.
0101h
The operation mode is changed to the parameter setting mode with the
mode registered onto E
2
PROM.
010Eh
The operation mode is changed to the extended service mode with the
mode registered onto E
2
PROM.
FFFFh
The mode preset on E
2
PROM is cleared and the operation mode is
changed to the mode of the mode setting switch.
If the mode setting switch setting is 0, 1 or E and the operation mode is preset on E
2
PROM at
power-on or CPU reset, the mode setting switch setting is ignored and the operation mode preset
on E
2
PROM is made valid.
Specifically, the operation mode after change-over is as listed below.

(15) Operation mode change result area
This area stores the execution result of the operation mode change request.
0: Normal completion.
1: Abnormal completion. (A mode change request of the unauthorized value was given.)
On abnormal completion, the AJ71PB92D/A1SJ71PB92D does not change the operation mode. It
maintains the same operation mode as before the change request was given.
