15- Introduction
BATTERY DISPOSAL
PC CABLE
The PC cable connect s your mobile telephone to a Personal Computer in order to exchange
data.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
This GSM mobile telephone is your responsibility. Please handle it with care and in respect
of local regulations. Please keep it in a safe place at all times and out of reach of children.
Be familiar ised with and use the security features to block unauthori s ed use. If your phone
and/or SIM card are lost or stolen, call your service provider immediately to prevent illegal
use.
When not in use, turn off the phone and remove the battery.
SECURITY CODES
The phone and SIM card are delivered to you pre-programmed with codes that protect the
phone and SIM card against unauthori s ed use. A short description of each follows. See “security
features”, page 7 6 to change your PIN and phonelock codes.

All SIM cards have a PIN (Personal Identity Number). It protects the card against unauthori s ed
use.
Entering the wrong PIN code three times disables the SIM card and the message

is then displayed.

Please ask your service provider for your PUK code. Use it to unblock a disabled SIM card
(see page “security features”, page 7 6 ).
The PUK2 code is required to unblock the PIN2 code (see above).
CALL BARRING PASSWORD

This password is used to bar various types of calls, made or received, from the phone (see
“call barring password”, page 7 6 ).
PHONELOCK CODE

This code is set to 0000 on delivery. You can change it. Once changed it cannot be identified by
the manufacturer over the phone. Please refer to “phone lock code”, page 7 6 for more details.
We advise you to remember these codes and be familiar ised with their purpose and operation.
DISPOSING OF WASTE PACKAGING
The packaging used for this phone is made of recyclable materials and as such should be
disposed of in accordance with your national regulations on the protection of the environment.
Please take care to separate the cardboard and plastic elements and to dispose them in
the correct manner.
In compliance with European environmental protection directives, used batteries must be
returned to the place of sale, where they are collected free of charge.
Don't throw away your batteries in your household waste.
