Emer To Air (Emergency To Air)
In the event of a background video failure an emergency message can easily
be sent to air using this command. The emergency image must be stored in
the image library under filename
V000.oxt .
When Emergency To Air is selected, DSK4 on the program output channel is
faded down over 25 fields. Image V000.oxt is then loaded and faded up over
a further 25 fields.
Emer From Air (Emergency From Air)
When Emergency From Air is selected, DSK4 on the program output channel
is faded down over 25 fields and the previous image is restored, but not faded
up.
EAS On
Setting EAS On will load the entire incoming EAS message into memory. It
will cut down DSK4 if active and load the EAS template (as specified by the
priority of the stored message) and then bring the crawl to air on DSK4.
Note: For EAS straps to appear correctly on DSK4, the fourth store
must be allocated sufficient memory. See page 177 for details of
how to change the store memory allocation

To change the default appearance of the EAS messages (i.e. scroll speed, font
size, colour, etc.) the following Imagestore files should be modified within
the Easytext application:

EASHigh.oxa Priority 1 (high) for NTSC or PAL
•
EASHighHD1080.oxa Priority 1 (high) for 1080i
•
EASHighHD720.oxa Priority 1 (high) for 720p
•
EASMid.oxa Priority 2 (medium) for NTSC or PAL
•
EASMidHD1080.oxa Priority 2 (medium) for 1080i
•
EASMidHD720.oxa Priority 2 (medium) for 720p
•
EASLow.oxa Priority 3 (low) for NTSC or PAL
•
EASLowHD1080.oxa Priority 3 (low) for 1080i
•
EASLowHD720.oxa Priority 3 (low) for 720p
