CALIBRATING CONSTANT FLOW WATER INLETS
D etermine the flow rates required as follows:

2. U sing the design productivity
rate of your machine, determine
the production rate per minute. 2400 Lb/hr.
60 min/hr = 40 Lb./min.
3. D etermine total water required
per minute. 40 Lb. x .8 gal/Lb. = 32 gpm4.
4. Per 10% of total into last
module. 32 x .1 - 3.2 gpm
5. Put 90% of total into rinse
zone. 32 x .9 = 28.8 gpm
6. Put 65% of reuse from rinse zone
into wash zone. R emainder goes
to reuse tank. 28.8 x .65 = 18.72 gpm
7. Calibrate the trickle flow valve
to maintain level in Module 1.
To calibrate these valves:
1. E nergize Tunnel power to open the last module rinse zone and wash zone
air operated valves (also starts the flush pump).
2. Adjust the throtting valves on the last module and rinse zone inlets so that
the flow meters indicate the previously calculated flow rates.
3. When the water level in the lint filter tank (flow splitter tank) rises suffi-
ciently and the wash zone pump starts supplying water to the wash zone,
adjust this inlet to the previously calculated rate.
4. Set the trickle flow valve (manual only) wide open and after the CBW is
functioning, throttle this valve back if desired, to the smallest flow rate that
will still insure adequate level in Module 1. This inlet does not have a flow
meter.
