CAUTION: The support roller will be removed in the next step. Do not
loosen or remove the positioning bolts, adjusting nuts, lock nuts or the
bracket they are attached to. (See Figure 2 ). These items are not part of
the Support R oller Assembly and must be left tightly attached to the shell.
The positioning bolts were adjusted at the MILNOR factory and must
remain as originally adjusted to insure proper alignment of the support
roller when it is replaced.
4. R emove all the holding bolts. (See Figure 2.) Check for washers between
the roller and the shell front and keep track of washer positions.
NOTE: The Small Holding Bolts identified in Figure 2 were only used on some older
machine models. If your machine has these bolts, remove them. They will not be
replaced.
5. Let the rope support
the weight of the
roller as you guide
the roller out
around the chain
and out from the
CBW.
6. U ntie the old roller.
If you purchased a
complete new sup-
port roller assembly,
proceed to Step 8.
7. If you purchased re-
placement bearings
and seals, rebuild
the support roller
assembly using the
replacement com-
ponents.
8. Tie the new or
rebuilt roller assembly to the rope. Let the rope support the weight of the
roller as you guide the roller back into position, then secure the rope.
9. On early models of the CBW, the back of the support roller shafts did not
protrude through the blue plastic water catcher. On newer models, how-
ever, this shaft is longer. Check to see if there is a hole in the water catcher
to accomodate the shaft. If not, a hole must be drilled in the water catcher.
