Switching off for longer
periods of time
If the appliance is not going to be used
for a longer period of time, e.g. whilst
on holiday:

Switch the appliance off.

Disconnect the appliance from the
power supply. Switch off at the wall
and withdraw the plug from the
socket, or switch off the mains circuit
breaker.

Risk of damage due to frozen
water intake pipe.
If the water supply is turned off while
the ice cube maker is still in
operation, the water intake pipe may
freeze.
Switch the Ice/Water dispenser off if
the water supply is to be interrupted
(e.g. during holidays).
 Turn off the tap of the water supply
(approx. 3 hours before switching off
the refrigeration appliance to avoid
the build-up of mould caused by
stagnant water).

Empty the ice cube container.
 Clean the refrigeration appliance.
 Clean the water filter.

Leave the door ajar to air the
appliance and to prevent odours
building up.
If, during a long absence, the
appliance is switched off but not
cleaned and the door left shut, there
is a risk of mould forming inside the
appliance.
It is essential to clean the appliance.
