Turn the printer off. 1.
Loosen the thumbscrew at the top of the waste ink indicator on the back of the 2.
printer.
Gently pull the waste ink module out of the back of the printer. 3.
Disconnect the snap connector from the back of the tank. Take care not to spill 4.
the ink.
Remove the two Phillips head screws from the clamp that secures the top of the 5.
waste ink tank.
Separate the tank from its bracket and remove the yellow cap from the top of the 6.
tank.
Dispose of the waste ink in an environmentally safe manner. (Please observe all 7.
local regulations while disposing the ink.)
After emptying the tank, reattach the yellow cap and reinstall the bracket with the 8.
two Phillips head screws.
Reconnect the snap connector and carefully slide the waste ink module back into 9.
the printer.
Tighten the thumbscrew at the top of the waste ink indicator. 10.
Turn the printer on before resuming operations. 11.
Packing and Shipping the Printer
Before moving or shipping your Xstreamjet, take care to pack it properly. Best results
are always obtained by reusing the Xstreamjet’s original carton and packing material.
If such is not available use a carton of similar size and packing material that cannot
flake or chip as small pieces may jam the printer.
Do not
use styrofoam “peanuts”.
Always remove the ink supply and the two waste ink systems
before packing and shipping the printer. Doing otherwise may
damage the unit and void the product warranty.
Follow the steps below to properly pack the Xstreamjet:
Turn off the printer. 1.
Remove ink supply 2.
– Open the printer cover. Remove all ink cartridges; if
the printer uses Microtech’s Continuous Ink System (CIS), remove it and the
associated tubing and mounting bracket.
If directed to return either cartridges or the CIS unit for service, be sure to place
them in a self-sealing plastic bag before shipping.
