Printer and Option Information
This activity displays the printer ID number.
Speed & Progress
Presents options for print speed and other elements. Factory defaults are shown
below. Do not change this settings without good reason.
Running the Head Cleaning Utility
Cleaning the print head clears the nozzles used to direct ink onto the print surface.
Use the utility to clean the print head only after observing that print quality has
degraded.
To clean the print head, do the following:
Ensure that the printer is turned on, but is not printing. Do not use the printer 1.
while cleaning the print head.
Access the Xstreamjet device control application either via 2. Discprint or the
Printers & Faxes window in Windows as noted in the section Starting the
Software above.
Click 3.
Head Cleaning

Click 4. Start to being the cleaning process. The printer makes noise as it progresses
through the cleaning cycle. Ignore on screen messages about removing the disc
tray.
Click 5.
Finish
when cleaning is complete.
Note : never turn the printer off while it is busy. If you are uncertain about the
status of the cleaning activity, let the printer sit idle for approximately five (5)
minutes. When there is no noise or internal activity for that duration the cleaning
process is complete.
