8.1.2.  Cleaning the Printheads  

 

 

 

 
 
 

 

 

This maintenance operations should be done after each ribbon 
exchange. Furthermore both printheads have to be cleaned not 
later than the print quality is reduced (unwanted "lines" or "gaps" 
in the printout). 

 
Hint: 
The sections that follow describe the cleaning of the front 
printhead. For the cleaning of the rear printhead refer to the 
following, too. 

 

 
 
 

Please pay attention to the following: 

- For the printheads cleaning there is no need to disassemble  

   or remove the printheads. 
- The printheads can be damaged by electrostatic charges.  
   Therefore first of all touch a properly grounded part of the  
   printer (f.e. the base plate of the printer).
