Diagnostics - Ping
This page allows you to issue ICMP (IPv4, ICMPv6) PING packets to troubleshoot IP connectivity
issues.
It should be used to test network connectivity between the unit and a remote network device.

Hostname or IPv4/IPv6 Address
- The address of the destination host such as 192.168.0.50
for IPv4 or 2345::15 for IPv6, or Hostname such as
my-computer.com
.

Payload Size
- Sets the size of the ICMPv4/v6 data payload in bytes (excluding the size of
Ethernet, IP and ICMP headers). The default value is 56 bytes. The valid range is 2-1452
bytes.
•
Packet Count
- Determines the number of PING requests sent. The default value is 5. The
valid range is 1-60.
Pressing the
Start
button will initiate a series of pings as shown in the figure bellow.

NOTE:
SysLog messages are kept in the RAM File System, meaning that SysLog messages will be lost
whenever the Switch power is down, or the Switch restart command is initiated.
