3. Utilisation. As above, but both the
preamble and inter-packet gap (IPG, 12
bytes) are included.
Include Tags
Where packets are tagged, the tag bytes may
be included or excluded for IR purposes.
Separate controls are available for c-tags, s-
tags and tags that are to be added by
external equipment.
9.1.3 Performance Parameters
FLR
Frame Loss Ratio
FLR specifies the maximum acceptable
number of packets that are not delivered, as
a percentage of the total packet count.
FTD
Frame Transfer Delay
(Latency)
FTD specifies the maximum acceptable
delay that is placed on the packet as it
passes over the service.
IFDV
Inter-Frame Delay
Variation (Jitter)
IFDV specifies that maximum acceptable
variation in the FTD between adjacent
packets passing over the service.
Availability
Availability specifies the amount of time (as a
percentage of the total) that the service is
'available'. The available status is derived
from the SES performance (see below) using
a filtering algorithm. The other performance
parameters only relate to available time.
9.1.4 Others
SES
Threshold
Severely-Errored
Second Threshold
In order to determine the availability status
(see above), Severely-Errored Seconds must
be identified. These are defined as 1-second
intervals where the FLR exceeds the
specified threshold value.
