DC powered units also have an external earth stud which must be securely
connected to an earth connection in order to ensure EMC compliance.
2.3 Configuration Switches
On the underside of the NT1003 and NT1005 there are 8 bit-switches which may be
used to configure certain functions. There is also a label giving a summary of these
functions as well as other information, as shown below.

: The NT10G05 has no user-accessible bit-switches.
The bit-switch settings are
only
registered when the unit restarts (the power is
applied, or a restart is instigated from the user interface). Furthermore, the settings
of switches 1-7 are only registered on a 'cold' restart, which can be selected from the
user interface or by setting switch 8 (see below).
