The rear window heating switches itself off
automatically after a certain time. The
heating time depends on the outside tem-
perature and the driving conditions.

The rear window heating has a high current
draw. You should therefore switch off the heat-
ing as soon as the rear window is clear.

If the battery voltage is too low, the rear win-
dow heating may switch off. The indicator lamp
in the rocker switch then goes out.
You can switch off the flow of fresh air if
unpleasant smells are entering the vehicle
from outside. No more fresh air will be tak-
en in and the air inside the vehicle will be
recirculated.

Clear all windows of ice or snow before set-
ting off. Impaired visibility could otherwise
endanger yourself and others.
Air-recirculation mode

Risk of accident
Only switch over to air-recirculation mode
briefly if the outside temperature is below
5 °C. Otherwise, the windows could mist up,
thus impairing visibility and endangering
yourself and others. This may prevent you
from observing the traffic conditions, there-
by causing an accident.
