Management and Tools Overview
Using this switch as an InfiniBand switch you will need the MLNX-OS package or Mellanox
UFM™ to update firmware for this switch. The MLNX-OS package can be downloaded from:
http://www.mellanox.com. => Products > Management Software > MLNX-OS.
The switch can be managed either remotely, or Out-of-Band using MLNX-OS.

Switch Management Using the MLNX-OS™ Software
The TX6100 switches come standard with a management software module for chassis manage-
ment called Mellanox Operating System (MLNX-OS). MLNX-OS is installed on all SwitchX
®
-2
based managed switch systems. MLNX-OS includes a CLI, WebUI, SNMP and chassis manage-
ment software and IB management software (OpenSM).
The IB Subnet Manager running on the TX6100 switches supports up to 648 nodes. If the fabric
includes more than 648 nodes, you may need to purchase Mellanox's Unified Fabric Manager™
(UFM™) software package.
The managed switch system includes the following software components:

Switch Management
The chassis management includes the following features:

Upgrading SwitchX

Upgrading software

Monitoring of:

AC power to the PSUs

DC power out from the PSUs

Board temperature
•
Fan module status
The Ethernet ports for remote management connect to Ethernet switches. These
switches must be configured to 100M/1G auto-negotiation.
