Connect the measuring cable and press the 

Sweep

 button to perform an impedance 

measurement of the open circuit. 

•

 

In  the 

Display  tab

,  select the  appropriate  S-parameter 

and press the 

Set Open

 button. 

•

 

The reference plane has now moved to the position of 
the open end and the following measurements will be at 
that point. 

It is also possible to perform this procedure with 

shorting

 the measuring point to ground 

and use the 

Set Short

 button. 

With  a 

two-port

  measurement  a  through  measurement  can  be  used  to  deembed  the 

through

 path.
