Plug in the power cord.
2.
Place one hand on the front handle and the other on the rear handle. Do not hold the chain brake!
3.
Release the chain brake.
4.
Press your thumb on the lock button (10) and at the same time press the power button (11).
5.
The chain saw starts.
Stopping
Stop the chain saw by pressing the switch or the lock button.
Felling
Felling is the term used for cutting down trees. Small trees, up to 15-18 cm in diameter, are usually felled
with a single cut. Larger trees require notch cuts. The notch cut determines in which direction the tree will
fall.
Felling trees
Plan and clear a retreat route (A) before you start to cut. The retreat route should run diagonally
backwards/outwards from the tree's expected direction of fall, as illustrated.
If you are felling trees on a slope, you should stand above the tree, as the tree is likely to roll or slide
down the hill when felled.
The notch cut controls the direction of fall (B). Before you
begin cutting, you must take into account the position of
large branches and the tree's natural incline to determine
how the tree will fall.
NOTE:
Do not cut down a tree if there is risk of it falling on power lines. First, contact the power company.
Consult a professional tree feller.
WARNING:
Never cut down trees in strong or shifting wind.
General guidelines for tree felling
Normally felling is performed using two cuts; the notch cut (C) and the felling cut (D). Start with the notch
cut’s (C) upper cut on the side the tree should fall (E). Do not make the lower cut too deep in the trunk.
The notch cut (C) should be deep enough to create a sufficiently wide and strong "hinge" (F). The notch
cut must be wide enough to guide the tree's fall as far as possible.
