When replacing a sanding belt, first pull the handle and then move the guide roller back until the belt
comes loose. Remove the worn belt and fit a new one. Fit a new sanding belt in the same way you
removed the old one, but in the reverse order. Adjust until it runs smoothly.
Tensioning and adjusting the sanding belt
The guide roller, adjusting spring and adjusting grip are used to tension and adjust the sanding belt.
Release the adjusting spring, turn the sanding belt by hand towards the drive roller, and adjust the belt
with the adjusting grip so that it runs in the middle of the drive roller.
Use
The sanding belt and sanding plate on the machine are intended for general sanding. Both the sanding
belt and sanding plate are well-suited for sanding materials such as metal, wood or plastic. You achieve
the best results when sanding if you keep a firm grip on the workpiece, but without pressing it down too
hard against the sandpaper. Run the workpiece backwards and forwards on the sandpaper to achieve
smooth sanding over the entire surface. Use the sanding support to support the workpiece. If the
workpiece is longer than the sanding surface, remove the sanding support so that you can use the full
sanding belt.
Because the sanding belt is fastened with a glue that does not harden, you can quickly replace the belt
with a different grade of belt. You can carry out drum sanding at both ends of the sanding belt. You can
sand on the back of the sanding belt when the belt sander is adjusted for vertical sanding. Slacken the
sanding belt, so that it can mould to the workpiece. The results of the sanding depend on
the grade of sandpaper and how the workpiece is handled. You achieve the best results if you start with a
coarse sandpaper and then gradually work up to finer grades. The sanding belt and sanding plate fitted
on delivery are both medium. It is often best to use the belt sander for vertical sanding. When you use the
machine for vertical sanding the workpiece normally rests on the table and not the sanding belt.
Sanding soft materials
When sanding soft materials if is easy to sand too much material. Check the workpiece frequently
during the sanding to avoid the risk of sanding off more material than you want to. Always sand
wood in the direction of the grain. Sanding against the grain can result in grooves and scratching in
the wood.
Always allow the sander to do the job, even during rough sanding. Do not press workpiece against
the sandpaper, this will produce inferior results.
Always use the angle stop, regardless of whether you are sanding straight or angled workpieces, to
achieve the best results.
Horizontal and vertical sanding
To switch from horizontal to vertical sanding, first release the nuts on the sanding table, put the sanding
pad in the required position, and then tighten the nuts again.

The sander is fitted with enclosed ball bearings, which do not require special maintenance.
