chainsaw when starting it, or using it.
Keep onlookers and pets away from the
work area. Other people should be at a
distance of least 10 metres when starting
and using the saw.
• Do not start sawing until the workplace
has been vacated, you have a good
footing, and have planned where to
retreat when the tree beings to fall.
• Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both
hands when it is running. Keep a firm grip
round both handles.
• Keep at a safe distance from the chain
when the saw is running. Make sure that
the chain is not touching anything before
starting the saw.
• When carrying the chainsaw it should be
switched off, and the muffler turned away
from the body.
• Always check the chain before use for
worn, loose or altered parts. Never use
the chainsaw if it is damaged, incorrectly
adjusted, or if it has not been completely
and safely assembled. Make sure that the
chain stops moving as soon as you release
the throttle.
• All servicing of this chainsaw, with the
exception of what is specified in these
instructions, should be carried out by an
authorised service centre (incorrect
servicing, especially to the flywheel,
can lead to serious accidents and
damage the saw).
• Always switch off the saw before putting it
down on the ground.
• Be very careful when sawing bushes and
brushwood because they can fasten in the
chain and whip you, or cause you to lose
your balance.
• When sawing a branch under tension,
be careful to avoid the branch hitting you
when it is completely sawn off.
• Keep handles clean, dry and free from oil
and fuel.
• Watch out for the risk of kickback. If the
chain at the top of the bar comes into
contact with an object the whole saw
can be quickly thrown up with great force.
This is kickback, and it can cause you to
completely lose control of the saw.
• When transporting the chainsaw always
put the guard on the bar.
• Put the saw in a safe position in the
transport so that no fuel can leak out and
to prevent the actual saw being damaged.
BEFORE USE
• Never use the chainsaw if you are tired, ill,
upset or under the influence of alcohol,
drugs, or medication.
• Only use the chainsaw in well-ventilated
areas. Never start or run the chainsaw
indoors. The exhaust contains highly
dangerous carbon monoxide.
• Never saw in strong wind, bad weather,
poor visibility, or when it is very hot or
cold. Always check if there are any dead
branches on the tree that can fall down
during the felling.
• Wear non-slip safety shoes, tightly fitting
clothes, ear protection, safety glasses and
a helmet. Wear vibration damping safety
gloves.
• The following precautions are
recommended to reduce the risk of bodily
injury. The observance of these
precautions cannot fully guarantee your
safety.
– Keep your body warm, especially your
head, throat, feet, ankles, hands and
