Appendix A Troubleshooting

Q: Most DOS games don’t seem to work with the Windows
Sound System mode of the Audiotrix 3D-XG v1.0

A: According to Microsoft, it is impossible to build a
Plug’n’Play device that is fully compliant with the Microsoft
Windows Sound System v1.02 hardware device specification.
Thus Mediatrix made a decision to only support the use of the
Sound Blaster Pro playback interface of the YMF715 chip
from Yamaha. Consequently, we do not recommend the use
of Windows Sound System playback in DOS games.
Mediatrix will supply a list of DOS games that are compatible
with the Windows Sound System mode of the YMF715 in the
future.
