
On the MIDI Control Panel there are controls for the overall
MIDI volume, and send levels for Reverb and Chorus. The
MIDI Control Panel can be collapsed or expanded by clicking
on the MIDI button at the bottom of the Mixer.
MIDI Volume
The MIDI Volume slider controls the absolute volume level of
all 16 MIDI channels. Unlike the Master Volume control, the
MIDI Volume control puts all 16 MIDI channels at the same
volume level.
Reverb and Chorus Effects
The Reverb and Chorus sliders control the uniform amount of
Reverb and Chorus sent to all 16 MIDI channels. Generally, a
GS or an XG MIDI file will have these send levels controlled
in the MIDI file itself. The MIDI Reverb and Chorus effects
should only be used to add Reverb and Chorus effects on GM
files, otherwise, you may be interfering with the composer’s
desired results. The send levels must be resent at the
beginning of each new MIDI file because the GM On, GS On
or XG On command resets the levels to 0 or some other value,
in the case of GS or XG, as chosen by the composer.
Digital Control Panel
On the Digital Control Panel, there are controls for the Effects
Volume, Reverb, Chorus, Variation and Dryness as well as the
selection of the various types of Reverb, Chorus and
Variation.
Digital Effects Volume and Dryness
The Digital Effects Volume controls the overall output
volume level of the DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) signals.
In other words, the volume level of anything that is not MIDI
(Mic, Wave, MODs, Line-In, CD Audio). The Dry control
