Connect the Other Peripherals

x

Plug external speakers into the amplified speaker output
of the card, or connect the unamplified line output to the
input of a stereo system. Use the amplified speaker
output for unamplified speakers such as those supplied
for setup purposes in the box with the Audiotrix 3D-XG.
Use the unamplified line output for amplified speakers or
for the input of a stereo system.

The unamplified connection is recommneded for the best
sound quality. The gain to the amplified output has been
doubled to give the maximum sound output. DO NOT
CONNECT THE AMPLIFIED OUTPUT TO A
SENSITIVE STEREO SYSTEM.

Connect a low impedance dynamic microphone, or an
electret microphone, to the microphone input of the card
(making sure that the microphone selector jumpers are in
the position corresponding to the microphone). See
Chapter 3 for more information.

Connect the output of the stereo source (CD player, CD-
ROM drive, synthesizer or cassette player) to the stereo
auxiliary input of the card, using a stereo cable.

Connect your joystick to the DB-15 game port of the
card. If you plan to use the MIDI interface, connect your
MIDI device with an extension MIDI cable to the
Audiotrix 3D-XG MIDI/Joystick cable supplied for that
purpose. The Audiotrix 3D-XG MIDI cable is a standard
Sound Blaster MIDI cable with opto-isolator circuitry in
the DB-15. AN AUDIOTRIX PRO MIDI CABLE WILL
NOT WORK ON THE AUDIOTRIX 3D-XG.

Connect the audio output from your CD-ROM drive to
the internal CD audio connectors of the Audiotrix 3D-XG
using the appropriate P2, P3, P4 connector for that
purpose. (see Layout in Chapter 3)
