MD8000 Chassis Fans
This section covers the chassis front and rear fan modules.
Cooling Fan Control
The rotation speed of the MD8000 series cooling fans changes in 2 stages depending on the
ambient temperature. With one or more fan units failed or stopped, the rest of the fans operate
with the highest rotation speed (refer to Table 3-5.1).
Note: The Hysteresis temp. means that, when operating with the corresponding speed, the fans do not reduce the rotation speed until
the temperature reaches down to this level.
Front Fan Modules
The MD8000 has four (4) “Hot Swappable” front fan modules. Each module contains two (2)
fans. These fans are use to draw cool air into the chassis.

CAUTION —
Ensure the chassis intake vents are not blocked. Restriction of intake
air will eventually cause over heating of the chassis and potential damage chassis
equipment installed or cause a fire.
