The MD8000 Series system offers a choice of three (3) platforms to best fit your network
configuration:
The
MD8000SX
is a
2U
chassis device with one (1) SWCNT-9 board for packet
switching between up to six (6) Trunk and Channel boards installed in the chassis.

MD8000
is a
4U
chassis device with up to two (2) SWCNT-9 boards for packet
switching between up to nine (9) Trunk boards and Channel Service boards installed
in the chassis. There is both an AC or DC version available. Details are contained in
this manual.
The
MD8000EX
is a
7U
chassis device with up to two (2) SWCNT-24 boards for packet
switching between up to twenty four (24) Trunk boards and Channel Service boards
installed in the chassis. There is both an AC or DC version available. Details are
contained in a separate manual (refer to

).
