MD8000 Chassis Fans

Rear Fans

The MD8000 has five (5) “Hot Swappable” rear fan modules. Each module contains two (2)
fans. These fans are used to exhaust hot air from the chassis.

The MD8000 rear fan modules are unique to the MD8000 chassis.

Figure 3-5.2 is a front view of the rear fan module and Table 3-5.3 a description of the front
panel LEDs.

CAUTION —

Ensure the chassis exhaust vents are not blocked. Restriction of

exhaust air will eventually cause over heating of the chassis and potential damage
chassis equipment installed or cause a fire.
