Analog signal connec ons
You can connect ground-referenced or floa ng signal sources to the WebDAQ 504. Use a floa ng connec on to
minimize ground noise. If you make a ground-referenced connec on between the signal source and the
WebDAQ 504, make sure the voltage on the AI– shell is in the common-mode range to ensure proper
opera on. The AI- shell is protected against accidental contact with overvoltages within the overvoltage
protec on range. Refer to the Specifica ons chapter for more informa on about opera ng voltages and
overvoltage protec on. Figure 6 shows a diagram for connec ng a grounded signal source to the WebDAQ 504.

Connect the external AC adapter that shipped with the device to the connector labeled EXT PWR on the rear
to jump to the power specifica ons.
If using a different power supply than what was shipped with the hardware, ensure that the supply has a
posi ve center pin.
