Operation
2.6 Tailgate Functions
The Tailgate functions are controlled by the TAILGATE OPEN
and CLOSE switches and the ACTIVATE switch on the cab
control box.
Be sure all non-operator personnel are at
least 20 feet (6 meters) away from all areas
of the Packer.
Serious personal injury or death may occur.
WARNING
Make sure the area above the vehicle is
clear of objects and power lines before
raising or opening the tailgate.
Serious personal injury or death may occur.
DANGER
NOTE
The warble alarm sounds when the tailgate
is opening and remains on until the tailgate
is closed.
The alarm does not sound if the ignition
switch is OFF or any of the E-STOP buttons
are pressed down.
Conditions
• Engine speed must be below 1700 rpm
2.6.1 Open Tailgate
Press and hold the ACTIVATE and the OPEN TAILGATE
switches at the same time to open the tailgate ( Figure 28, Item
1).
2.6.2 Close Tailgate
Press and hold the ACTIVATE and the CLOSE TAILGATE
switches at the same time to close the tailgate ( Figure 28,
Item 2).
