Pump
The carriage assembly has a manually operated hydraulic pump
that is used to apply hydraulic pressure to the carriage hydraulic
cylinders in order to move the jaws. The pump has a pressure
release valve on the lower left side of the pump.

Overview
Oil Reservoir
The hydraulic pump has a reservoir that stores the hydraulic
fluid. The hydraulic fluid is filled through a plug on the top of the
reservoir.
Refer to the "Check Oil Level" section for instructions on checking
and filling the hydraulic fluid.
Refer to the "Hydraulic Fluids" section of this manual for hydraulic
oil recommendations.

Hydraulic Cylinders
The two carriage cylinders have air bleed screws and must be
bled if the system ever runs low on oil or leaks air on inlet side
of pump. Air in the system is indicated when carriage movement
becomes jerky and erratic.
Consult the "Maintenance" section of this manual for procedure to
follow when bleeding air from system.
