4 - 4 Troubleshooting EP800AD (Acrobat™ HPU)
Open/Close Switch Not
Functioning
Main Circuit Breaker
Trips
Check power to
Open/Close
solenoids per switch position. This can
be done with a volt meter at the plug that supplies the solenoids
power, and should read 24V when switch is in corresponding
Open/Close position.
No:
• Check open/close switch and wiring per Electrical Schematic
(719904) Sheet B .
If the main breaker trips let the unit cool for 3 minutes and try to
reset. Does it trip after reset?
Yes:
• If the main breaker trips immediately upon resetting, visually inspect
wiring inside electrical box for damage or a shorting condition.
Check solenoid resistance, solenoid should read around 34 (+/- 5)
Ohms.
• If the resistance is less, this indicates a shorted fault. If the resistance is
more, this indicates an open fault and the solenoid should be replaced.

Inspect/Check all fuses.
• If all fuses check out properly this indicates a fault in either the EMI
filter, main breaker, or the wiring between the main breaker and fuses
Check solenoid retention nut for proper torque.
No:
• Loosen nut and re-torque to correct value of 4 - 5 ft-lbs (5.4 - 6.8
Nm).
Yes:
• Replace the cartridge valve.
