11. Start-up
Only put the device into operation when you have become familiar with its features and these
operating instructions. Check again that all connections are correct. Do not put the product into
operation if it is damaged.
The amplifier for this equipment should always be the last to be turned on and the first to be tur-
ned off. This prevents noise, e.g. when the CD player is switched off, that can damage the ampli-
fier or the loudspeakers.
Make sure that the connected devices are not overloaded. The sound should never be distorted.
If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume on the amplifier has not been set too
high, switch off the device immediately and check the connection. If the connection is correct,
please contact a specialist.
The device may only be operated by persons familiar with the operating instructions. Keep other
persons and children away from the device.
a) Switching on the Player
•
Turn the volume control of the connected amplifier down completely.
•
Press the power switch (1) to switch on the CD player.
•
Then switch on the amplifier.
b) Inserting a CD
Do not insert any damaged CDs into the player. The high rotational speed may cause it to crack and
damage the device. Do not insert more than one CD.
Multi-session CDs are not supported. Only the first session can be played.
Never interfere with the motor-driven movement of the CD disk drive drawer. Do not close the CD com-
partment by pressing on it. This damages the mechanics and could lead to malfunctioning. The tray clo-
ses again automatically after approx. 20 seconds. This prevents damage to the tray from unintentional
opening of the tray.
•
Open the CD compartment (20) by pressing OPEN/CLOSE (24).
•
Place an audio CD in the CD tray with the labelled side upwards. Always hold a CD on the outer edge and
avoid touching the surface of the underside.
