Message Output over the Network: Bit-by-bit Mapping
The function that handles message output over the network (see above) allows the
transmission of groups of 8 messages. The byte format of the source and destination objects
automatically assigns the channels to each other. All devices with network capability allow bit-
by-bit mapping of input and output channels. This makes it possible to configure variable
network interconnections on the channel level.
Interconnection examples:
• Steady light, red LED
ME x
-> MA y_LR1 and
ME x
-> MA y_LR2
• Steady light, green LED:
ME x
-> MA y_LG1 and
ME x
-> MA y_LG2
• Slow flashing light, red LED:
ME x -> MA y_LR2
• Slow flashing light; green LED:
ME x -> MA y_LG2
• Fast flashing light, red LED:
ME x -> MA y_LR1
• Fast flashing light, green LED:
ME x -> MA y_LG1
• Relay output (option):
ME x -> MA y_R
