Trobleshooting
Printer does not power on
USER
Disconnect and reconnect again the power cables making sure
that an electricity supply is actually present
Printer does not power on
Printer has printing problems
USER
Printer does not start
printing (no movement)
Make sure that a Moca/Espresso printer appears in
“Devices and Printers” and that it is active (icon appears
in dark grey)
Make sure that options “popup prints error” and “popup
jobs status” are selected
Make sure that card is present in the input hopper
Make sure that the front panel (output bin) is closed
(Moca)
Make sure that the ribbon is actually loaded and that its
cover is fully closed
USER
Executes movements but
card is not printed
(blank card)
Make sure that the ribbon cartridge is inserted correctly
The identifier of the ribbon has been damaged and as a
result cannot be used by the machine: change the
ribbon
USER
Single or Multiple horizontal lines: clean the printhead
using a swab or pen as described in the User Manual
Defects in Print Quality
Dots appear on printout due to dirty cleaning roller:
clean with water as described in the User Manual
Partial printing or dots due to dirty cards: use only clean
cards
If printout colours or appearance are not satisfactory,
modify the Brightness, Contrast and Sharpness values
in Printer Preferences and check printout improvement
Red marks appearing on printouts: these may occur
when printing dark images with high contrast and
brightness settings. To eliminate them, reduce the
“contrast” and “brightness” values in the “colour
settings” menu on the “ribbon/preferences” page
