Additional information on the 911/968 SmartSystem
The Model 911 Signer and the Model 968 SmartBurster can be connected by a cable to form an
automatic system for signing and bursting continuous forms, with or without margin slitting. The
Model 981 Stand, with a two-section top shelf and a paper loop tensioner, is designed specifically

Setting Up the SmartSystem
Place the Model 911 Signer on the lower section of the top shelf, facing outward. Place the Model
968 SmartBurster on the upper section of the top shelf, directly behind the signer so that paper
centered in the signer will be centered in the burster. Plug one end of the 911/968 Cable into the
6-pin DIN receptacle on the rear panel of each machine. Align the index ridge on the plug with the
groove on the receptacle. Plug the power cords of both machines into AC outlets and power up
both machines. On the burster, install the Receiving Tray, position the tractors, and adjust the
slitters.

to operate and maintain the 968. Also, see section 7.2 of this manual for details on how to run the
two machines together.
