Cleaning
General - to be performed as needed or at least monthly.
1.
Vacuum paper dust and other contaminant from the Model 911.
2.
Clean the main body of the machine with a soft dry cloth.
3.
Clean the Platen and the Signature Plates.

CAUTION!! The ink roller is saturated with permanent ink. Always use the protective
glove supplied with your Model 911 (or similar hand protection) when working with ink
rollers.

WARNING!! Never use cleaning solvents near fire or flame. Always wear eye and skin
protection when using cleaning solvents.
When the quality of signatures begins to noticeably deteriorate, clean the platen and signature plates.
to clean the signature plates, remove them from the signature plate holder. Clean the plates with a
cloth dampened with alcohol. Wipe the signature plate holder, idler wheels, and platen with a cloth
dampened with alcohol.
9.2
Lubrication
After each eight hours of running time, lubricate all accessible metal bearings with one drop of light
machine oil that contains no detergent or wax. Do no use a penetrating oil; it will displace the existing
oil and evaporate. Lubricate gears and plastic bearings with lithium grease or other synthetic grease.
10.0 ERROR CODE EXPLANATIONS
If the Model 911 displays “System Error, _ _” , press STOP to see the the “Error Reference Number _
_”. Following is a list of error reference numbers, their meanings, and suggested remedies. If any
error persists, contact your dealer or Martin Yale at 260-563-0641.
Error Reference 04 -
The signature plate was moved manually during a pause (“HOLD”). Try
setup again.
Error Reference 10 -
Signature flag not found. Try setup again.
Error Reference 11 -
Signature step missed during a run cycle. This error indicates a loss of
synchronization between the signature shaft and the platen shaft (paper drive).
Error 11 is usually caused by an obstruction, excessive heat, or low AC supply
voltage. Remove any obstruction to the signature shaft or the paper path.
Remove any blockage of the rear and bottom ventilation slots. Check for a
minimum AC supply voltage of 103 VAC.
Error Reference 12 -
Paper sensor switch is erratic during running. Reposition the paper for
smoother feeding.
Error Reference 13 -
Invalid form length stored. Reprogram the form length.
