ADJUSTING
THE REAR SHOCK-ABSORBERS
• The rear shock absorbers feature a spring preload ad-
justment facility that allows you to adjust suspension
performance in relation to the load, type of riding, and
road conditions.
• To adjust the shock absorbers use the supplied wrench
on the ring nut at the bottom of the shock absorbers:
turning the ring nut counter-clockwise increases
spring preload.
There are five adjustment positions:
1) Position one: rider only (up to 75 kg)
2) Position two: rider only (more than 75 kg)
3) Position three: rider and luggage
4) Position four: rider and pillion
5) Position five: rider, pillion, and luggage.
NOTE Adjust both shock absorbers to the same position. Unbalanced adjustment will affect the stability of
the scooter.
When travelling with pillion set the shock absorber spring to position “4”.
Wear gloves when adjusting the shock absorbers: risk of abrasion injury.
ADJUSTING IDLING SPEED
• Engine idling speed should be adjusted whenever you notice that the engine is idling unevenly.
• To check idle speed start the engine and rev moderately until normal running temperature is reached; now allow the
engine to idle and check that it runs smoothly.
• Open and close the throttle several times to check that idle speed remains stable.
THROTTLE PLAY ADJUSTMENT
• Check that throttle grip play is 1-3 mm (measured at the edge of the throttle grip).
ADJUSTING THE BRAKE LEVERS
• Brake lever maintenance is performed by checking the brake fluid level.
• Spongy operation of the brake levers indicates the presence of air in the hydraulic circuit.
