Essential safety instructions
4.1 General safety instructions
●
Read the safety instructions through
carefully before commissioning.
●
Ask your installer to familiarise you with
the EW-S controller once installation is
completed.
●
Keep these instructions somewhere safe.
●
The EW-S controller and the system
components should not be used as toys.
Brine-earth heat exchanger EW-K 225
(incl. controller and accessory)
is not intended to be used by people
whose physical, sensory or mental
capabilities are not sufficient for them
to understand and put into practice
the safety information provided in
these instructions. This restriction also
applies to children.
The system may however be safely
used by such persons if they are
supervised by someone responsible
for their safety or if they are instructed
in a suitable way.
●
Never operate the brine-earth heat
exchanger EW-K 225 without a filter.
●
Check the filter regularly for dirt and
damage. See Chapter 6, Cleaning and
maintenance.
●
Change the filter regularly, at least every
6 months. Only use original filters.
●
For reasons of hygiene, the filter should be
changed before starting the unit up after it
has been switched off for some while.
●
Switch the brine-earth heat exchanger off
immediately if you discover damage or
faults that could endanger persons or
property. Make sure the unit cannot be
switched back on until it has been fully
repaired.
●
Installation is only permitted when
carried out by trained specialists.
●
Electrical connections and repairs are
only permitted when carried out by
trained specialists.
●
The system components may only be
operated using the rated voltage and
frequency shown on the rating plate.
●
Disconnect the EW-S controller from the
mains supply before carrying out any
cleaning and maintenance work - switch off
the mains fuse at the fuse box. Position a
visible warning notice at the fuse box to
avoid the unit being accidentally switched
back on.
●
Modifications and alterations to system
components are not permitted and release
the manufacturer from any guarantee
obligations and liability.
4.2 Intended use
●
Application areas for brine-earth heat
exchangers are buildings, which are
equipped with a room air system with
heat recovery.
●
Operation is only permitted with all system
components correctly connected. The G4
air filter must be installed in the EW-K 225
and the housing cover must be closed.
●
The brine-earth heat exchanger may only
be used in line with the calculations/de-
signs carried out by the Engineering office.
●
Ceiling-, wall- or floor-mounting with
suitable mounting material is permitted.
●
The only permitted installation position for
the EW-K 225 is with the condensation
run-off connection at the bottom.
