MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION 207

Inspection

Inspect your tyres daily. Look for bulges, cracks, cuts, penetrations and/or oil contamination.
If any such damage is found, the tyre must be thoroughly inspected by a qualified tyre
inspector and repaired or discarded immediately, at his discretion. Also, check for uneven
wear. If found, a thorough inspection of front end parts and alignment should be made by a
qualified mechanic. Refer to the

Maintenance and Lubrication Manual

for more information.

Tyre Manufacturer’s Data Book

Specific and more detailed information can be obtained by referring to the technical data
books provided by each tyre manufacturer.

Subjects of interest are:

•

High-speed or low-speed operation

•

Repair, retreading and regrooving

•

Use of tyre chains

•

Mixing radial and bias tyres on the same vehicle

•

Use of dynamometers

•

Tyre mounting/dismounting
