Installing Sealed Bearing

Clean shaft and apply rust preventive coating.

Figure 5.4: Sealed Bearing

Install flangette (A), bearing (B), second flangette (C),
and lock collar (D).

NOTE:

The locking cam is on only one side of the bearing.

Install and tighten the flangette bolts (E).

Lock the lock collar (D) with a punch once the shaft is
correctly positioned.

NOTE:

Lock the collar in the same direction the shaft rotates,
and tighten the setscrew in the collar.

Loosen the flangette bolts (E) on the mating bearing
one turn, and retighten. This will enable the bearing to
properly line up.
