MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING

5.2.3

Installing a Sealed Bearing

1. Clean the shaft and apply a rust preventive coating.

2. Install the

angette (A), bearing (B), second

angette (C), and lock the collar (D).

NOTE:

The locking cam is on only one side of
the bearing.

3. Install the

angette bolts (E). Do not tighten.

4. Position the shaft correctly, and lock the lock collar with

a punch. Lock the collar in the same direction the shaft
rotates, and tighten the setscrew in the collar.

5. Tighten the

angette bolts (E).

6. Loosen the

angette bolts on the mating bearing

(one turn) and then retighten. This will enable the
bearing to properly line up.
