Serial Connection 8
Serial connectors transmit information but are not power sources. To power a system using a serial connector,
connect a relevant power source (To connect a power source, see
Connecting the System’s Power Source on page
26
).
To connect a Serial Connection as the PCB Controller power source:
1. Open the roll of Lumio serial cable.
The cable includes a 3 pin Male Serial connector on one side, and a 9 pin RS 232 connector on the other
side.

2. Insert the Male Serial connector into the JP4 female connector located on the PCB Controller board.
Note :
•
Ensure that the prongs of the Male connector fit correctly into the Female connector
• Ensure that the Male connector locks tightly into the Female connector

3. Connect the other side of the serial cable to the PC with the RS 232 connector.
