4.4. CONNECTING/SEPARATING THE LIFTING CYLINDERS
The lifting cylinders are connected to the LX LIFT via hose lines The LUKAS
quick-disconnect coupling enables the connection to be made without any risk of
confusion
4.4.1.
CONNECTING THE QUICK-DISCONNECT COUPLING
Remove the dust protection caps from both halves of the coupling Turn the locking
sleeve so that the sleeve can be pushed (figure D) Now push the sleeve back-
wards and connect the couplings together Then release the sleeve Afterwards,
the sleeve must be turned back into the locked position (figure E) Now connect the
dust protection caps together If it is not possible to connect the quick-disconnect
couplings, pressure will be exerted on the couplings in the LX LIFT In this case,
please follow the procedure described in the Preparing for dismantling section
4.4.2.
SEPARATING THE QUICK-DISCONNECT COUPLING
Pull the dust protection caps apart Turn the locking sleeve so that the sleeve can be
pushed (figure D) Now push the sleeve backwards and disconnect the couplings
Then put the dust protection caps back on both halves of the coupling (figure F)
4.5. OPERATING THE DEVICE
Before starting the power unit, check that the preselection lever for the power sup-
ply is set to 0 This allows the oil to circulate freely and means that the power unit
will start up easily If the preselection lever is set to 0 (figure J), it is not possible to
move the cylinders with the valve
4.5.1.
EXTENDING THE CYLINDERS
Turn the preselection lever from 0 to I (figure K); both lifting valves will now be sup-
plied with oil and the pump will be pressurized By moving the lifting valves towards
the operator (figure L), the cylinders can be extended After releasing the lever, it
automatically returns to the central position Once the movement is complete, the
preselection lever returns to switching position 0 (figure J)
4.5.2.
RETRACTING THE CYLINDERS
Turn the preselection lever from 0 to I (figure K); both lifting valves will now be sup-
plied with oil and the pump will be pressurized By moving the lifting valves away
from the operator (figure M), the cylinders can be retracted After releasing the le-
ver, it automatically returns to the central position Once the movement is complete,
set the preselection lever to switching position 0 again
4.6. PREPARING FOR DISMANTLING
Before disconnecting the hoses, the hydraulic system must be depressurized
To do so, the cylinders must be retracted to within a few millimeters and then the
power unit must be switched off Afterwards, the preselection lever must be set to I
again (figure K) and the lifting valve must be switched several times in both operat-
ing directions (figures L and M) The system is now depressurized
4.7. DISMANTLING
Start with the cylinders and disconnect them first Then disconnect the hoses be-
tween the cylinders and the LX LIFT Finally, separate the connection between the
LX LIFT and the drive unit
