Auxiliary Oil Mist Generator
Prior to start-up, recheck all connections, ensure that all of the fittings are tight and that all of the electrical
connections are properly made. Ensure that the oil mist distribution system, reclassifiers and application
point connections, vents and drains are all properly installed. Verify that the equipment and systems used to
maintain the air supply are in proper working order and that these supplies are turned on at the unit air inlet
connection.
Start-up of the LubriMist® Model JD is very simple and requires only a few operator initiated actions. The
steps for start-up of the Model JD oil mist generator are as follows:
1. Ensure that the power switch and the air supply block valves are turned off for both the auxiliary
and primary oil mist generators.
2. Ensure that the mist outlet ball valves are in the proper position.
3. Add oil to auxiliary reservoir.
4. Turn ON the inlet air supply to the auxiliary generator.
5. Turn ON the electrical power to the auxiliary generator.
6. Set the mist header pressure.
These four steps are further discussed below:
1. UTILITIES
PRECAUTIONS.
Ensure that the power switch and the air supply block valves are turned off for both the auxiliary and
primary oil mist generators.
2. MIST OUTLET VALVE VERIFICATION.
Ensure that the inlet air supply valve serving the main oil mist generator is tightly closed. The mist outlet
valve to the auxiliary oil mist generator should be in the fully open position and the valve for the main oil
mist generator outlet should be in the fully closed position.
3. ADD OIL TO AUXILIARY RESERVOIR
Fill the auxiliary reservoir up to an acceptable level by utilizing the manual fill connection on the
side of the reservoir. The oil level in the reservoir can be monitored by using the oil level sight
gauge.
4. TURN ON THE INLET AIR SUPPLY.
Locate the inlet air supply block valve that services the auxiliary oil mist generator. It is located in the
rear of the unit near the inlet air connection. The valve should be in the fully opened position.
5. TURN ON THE ELECTRICAL POWER.
Before turning on the electrical power, ensure that all user provided connections are securely fastened
and that covers to all electrical enclosures and junction boxes are tightly secured.
5.1. Locate and energize the electrical power supply at the source. The supply circuit should be
protected with a suitable current limiting device for the service. For additional information regarding
voltage and amperage ratings for the JD Oil Mist Generator see
Electrical Power Connection
in the
section titled INSTALLATION of this manual.
5.2. Locate the power switch for the auxiliary oil mist generator.
Separate ON – OFF power switches are provided for the main and auxiliary oil mist generators.
The auxiliary oil mist generator power switch is located outside the cabinet above the enclosure
containing the user’s power connection terminals.
5.3. Now turn on the power to the auxiliary oil mist generator.
