The two lower parallel link arms with welded pad are mounted on the outside of the
gang tower. Place a thick
5/8
” washer on a
5/8
”x 8 ½” bolt (flat side of washer
toward the head of the bolt). Next, place the pad side of one of the lower arms
with welded pad facing upward, then place another thick
5/8
” washer on the bolt
(rounded side of washer toward arm). With these items on the bolt, hold a 2”
spacer bushing (14) between the bottom holes of the inner gang tower, and insert
the bolt (insert from left to right as you stand behind the gang tower), through the
gang tower and the bushing in the middle. The remainder of the bolt is sticking out
the right-hand side of the gang tower
.
Place another thick
5/8
” washer (flat side to
the gang tower) over the extended bolt. Place on another pad side lower link arm
with pad facing upward. Place another thick
5/8
” washer (rounded side to face link
arm) on the bolt. Finally, secure with the
5/8
” hex nut (16), followed by the
5/8
”
thin hex nut (17) to lock it in place. Important: The link arm bolts should be
tightened only to the point where the gang is able to float freely, with no side-to-
side sway allowed.
10. Attach the parallel arm stop. The two middle holes hold the parallel arm stops.
The arms will brace against the stops when the toolbar is raised and the gang is
lifted from the ground. Insert a
5/8
” x 8 ½” bolt (34) through a thick
5/8
” washer
(35) (flat side of washer to head of bolt), a 2” spacer bushing (14), then another
thick
5/8
” washer (35) (round side towards spacer bushing). Holding a 2” spacer
bushing (14) between the middle holes of the inner the gang tower, insert the bolt
through the gang tower and the bushing from left to right, as you stand behind the
gang tower. On the remainder of the bolt extending from the right-hand side of the
gang tower, place a thick
5/8
” washer (35) (flat side of washer toward the gang
tower), a 2” spacer bushing (14), then another thick
5/8
” washer (35) (rounded side
of washer toward link arm). Finally, secure with the
5/8
” hex nut (16), followed by
the
5/8
” thin hex nut (17) to lock it in place.
11. Attach the three parallel arms to the angle gang brackets. Insert one each of
the powder metal bushings (13) into the open ends of the upper parallel arm (32)
and lower parallel arms (33). The upper parallel arm is mounted between the left
and right angle gang brackets. Insert a
5/8
”x 4” bolt (15) through the top hole of
the left angle gang bracket, the upper parallel arm, and the top hole of the right
angle gang bracket. Secure the bolt with a
5/8
” hex nut (16) and a
5/8
” thin hex
nut (17). The two lower parallel link arms are mounted on the outside of the left
and right angle gang brackets. Place a thick
5/8
” washer on a
5/8
”x 8 ½” bolt (flat
side of washer toward the head of the bolt). Next, place the bolt thought the open
end of the left lower parallel arm, then place another thick
5/8
” washer on the bolt
(rounded side of washer toward arm). Hold a 2” spacer bushing (14) between the
bottom holes of the right and left angle gang brackets, and insert the bolt (insert
from left to right as you stand behind the gang tower), through the brackets and
the bushing in the middle. The remainder of the bolt is sticking out the right-hand
side of the angle brackets
.
Place another thick
5/8
” washer (flat side to the gang
tower) over the extended bolt. Place on the right lower link arm with nylon
bushing. Place another thick
5/8
” washer (rounded side to face link arm) on the
bolt. Finally, secure with the
5/8
” hex nut (16), followed by the
5/8
” thin hex nut
(17) to lock it in place.
