System Installation

Connection diagram

The connection diagram below describes a typical installation of the Gocator Legal For
Trade System. During installation, the user must connect a laptop or PC to the sensor and
use the

Gocator Conveyor Utility

to modify the active region of the device. An optional

Ethernet switch can be used to maintain connectivity for all devices although this is not
required and the user may disconnect the Ethernet connection to the Smart Display and
connect directly to the sensor.

The sensor, encoder and smart display can be powered using 24V DC.  A cable harness
must be assembled to connect the Encoder to the Gocator.  Please refer to the Gocator I/O
Connector pinout and Encoder Power/Data Connector pinout diagrams for details on how
to make these connections.  LMI provides the Gocator cordsets as separate part numbers
while the encoder wiring harness is bundled with the encoder itself.
