To calculate the stresses exerted by the system on the anchoring devices, it is necessary
to consider the geometry assumed by the line in the event of a fall.
In the case of a single span , both end anchors will be stressed by forces acting in different
directions compared to those of the resting line.
Indicative diagram single span:
In the case of multiple spans , only the extreme anchors of the span in which the fall may
occur, will be solicited by forces acting in a different direction compared to the resting
line.

Therefore, the forces acting on the intermediate, angular and end anchors, as well as the
respective stresses on the fixings, must be assessed for each individual case according to
the geometry of the system and the possible fall modes and to the deflections shown on
the following pages.
