1.
Apply the mop head on the main device as follows (Figure 1): Place the mop head on the floor and insert the
rotating joint such in the intended opening in the main device that it locks into the end position (you will hear a
clicking sound). Ensure before use that the mop head locks securely.
2.
Press the flip key and flip the handle up until it locks into the stock device (you will hear a clicking sound).
3.
Place the microfibre cloth on the mop head.
4.
When using the UV MOP on carpet surfaces: place the mop head with installed microfibre cloth on the carpet
slider as displayed in Figure 2.
Note: Remove or never apply accessories while the device is in operation. Do not use the UV MOP without the carpet
slider on carpet surfaces. Never use the carpet slider on surfaces that are prone to scratches.
Using the UV Mop vapour brush
With the UV MOP, floors such as marble, ceramics, carpets, stone, linoleum, sealed hard wood floors and parquet can
be cleaned.
NOTE:
• This product emits vapour and generates humidity. On the floor, water stains, colouring or damage can occur, if the
device is operated in the same place for too long.
• Do not use the device on untreated floors and do not leave it on wood or heat-sensitive surfaces for longer periods of
time. This could increase the wood grain or cause other damage.
• Be particularly cautious if the device is used on vinyl, linoleum or other heat-sensitive floors. Too much heat may
cause glue to melt in the floor. Use the device only on coated floor, which was laid professionally and has no gaps or
tears which permit the entry of liquidity.
• Test the UV MOP on a small, stand-alone surface of your floor before you use it on the entire surface.
• Use the carpet slider only on carpet surfaces or carpet runners. The use of the carpet slider on all other surfaces may
result in stripes or scratches.
NOTE:
Ensure that the UV MOP is unplugged.
1.
Fill the water tank with water. Turn the lock of the water tank opening about 90° anti-clockwise in the OPEN
position and remove the lock as shown in Figure Hold the mop either at an angle of 45° as displayed in Figure
3 or remove the tank entirely, fill it and then place it back in the device. Use the measuring cup and fill water in
the tank until the MAX marking. Do not overfill the tank. The maximum tank capacity is 300 ml. You can use tap
water for the UV MOP. In areas of hard water, we recommend distilled water for a better performance. Refit the
water tank lid and turn about 90° clock-wise until the position ZU, so that the cover is tightened securely.Ensure
that the copper cone in the water tank (Figure 4) is always fully in the water during operation.
PLEASE NOTE:
The tube – which is visible – can sometimes kink in the water tank, which will interfere with proper
functioning of the device. If this happens, please remove the kink from the tube.
TIP:
For a particularly fresh odour when cleaning, we recommend using the Livington UV MOP vapour air. This is availa-
ble as an alternative accessory. Particularly suitable for households with animals. Application: simply add 2 to 3 dashes in
the water reservoir of the Livington UV MOP.
2.
Insert the mains adaptor in an earthed socket. Operate the mains switch (O/I - see Figure 6) and thereby put the
device from position OFF (O) to position ON (I).
3.
After about 30 seconds open the vapour controller and adjust the vapour to your needs. The UV Mop has a
stepless automatic vapour control. Select one of the following settings on the vapour control: position left - low,
position central - medium, position right - high. You can adjust the vapour output at any time during use with the
vapour control. The mop will then start to emit vapour. To stop the vapour emission, close the vapour control and
switch the device to the position OFF (O) with the use of the mains switch (O/I). If you switch the mains switch
(O/I) to position ON (I) and wait for less than 30 seconds before you operate the vapour control, water that is
still in the mop from the last use cannot be heated. This water can then be pushed out by the vapour occurring
and cause puddles. This can also occur if you put the mains switch to OFF (O) and simply pull the mains adapter
without previously closing the vapour control.
TIP:
The vapour control settings low and medium are ideal for cleaning all hard floors, such as linoleum, ceramics,
marble, wood, etc. The setting of high is optimal for cleaning carpets and runners, bathrooms, kitchens, window sills, car
wheels, etc.
4.
Automatic activation of the UV light: The fully automatic UV light that is on the bottom side of the vapour head
(Figure 7) activates automatically when the device is switched on. The operation of the UV light is continued for
so long as you use the UV Mop. If you lift up the UV Mop from the floor, a protective mechanism deactivates the
UV light and leaves it deactivated until the device has firm contact with the ground again. This protective mecha-
nism serves to prevent any unwanted, direct contact with the UV lamp.
Note:
The UV MOP has an automatic steam-stop function as an additional safety measure, which activates itself
automatically after about 45 seconds and which stops steam and turns off the UV light. This guarantees that your floor
and other surfaces that are to be cleaned will not be exposed to localised steam for an extended period of time, which
could cause damage. In addition, there is a safety contact on the bottom of the UV MOP which deactives the UV light
whenever the UV MOP is lifted up to ensure you do not accidentally look into the UV light. When you put the device
back down, the UV light will switch back on automatically.
5.
Move the device slowly over the surface to be cleaned. The suction mop thereby absorbs the dirt that was loosened
by the vapour. Use the vapour generously. Put a cloth aside in order to brush off excess water that may occur.
6.
As soon as the UV MOP stops to release vapour, refill the water tank for further cleaning and continue the cleaning
or deactivate the device and end the cleaning process. The UV Mop has the possibility of filling the tank in activa-
ted condition, as it has an automatic water system that stops the vapour process as soon as the tank is empty.
7.
After every use, ensure that the device is switched OFF and the mains adapter is disconnected from the socket
so that it is completely SWITCHED OFF before the next use.
TIP:
The mop will stand up on its own if you lock the mop stick into place turned to the front.
NOTE:
• Never use the device for too long in the same position. This may damage the surface of the floor.
• Never put your hands or feet under the mop. The device gets very hot.
• When the mop is in operation, a pulsating sound may be audible. This is an entirely normal operating sound and me-
ans that the mop is producing vapour. It is possible that some drops of water are released together with the vapour.
This is also entirely normal.
• The power and temperature of the vapour could have a negative impact on some materials. For that reason, always
first test the vapour mop at a non-visible location to thereby ensure that the surface cannot be damaged by its use.
TIP:
• Brush the floor or use a vacuum cleaner before you use the UV MOP.
• To avoid the formation of puddles, the microfibre cloth must always be clean and dry. To do this, wring out the micro-
fibre cloth as needed.
• To make an area of your floor hygienically clean, set the vapour cleaner at a high performance and let it work for
about 10 seconds (but no longer than 15 seconds) in one position.
Putting the hand vapour cleaner together
The hand vapour cleaner is the ideal portable cleaner for surfaces, work areas, washing basins, windows, mirrors and
tiles. It is also used for the selective cleaning of floors carpets and runners. Always use it together with the jet nozzle,
the bras brush or the nylon brush to spray off dirt, grease, mould and more.
NOTE:
Always disconnect the mains adapter of the UV MOP from the socket before you remove the hand vapour
cleaner.
1.
To remove the hand vapour cleaner, push the unlocking slide upwards and remove the hand vapour machine
from the main part of the device (Figure 8).
2.
To apply the jet nozzle, push it in the intended opening in the main part of the device until it locks in (Figure 9).
NOTE:
Ensure before use that the nozzle is firmly placed in its anchoring.
NOTE:
Never use the round brass brush on surfaces that are sensitive to scratches.
Apply either the wire brush fitting or the round brush fitting by screwing the relevant brush on the thread at the
end of the jet nozzle (Figure 10).
3.
To remove the brush again, unscrew it again from the thread of the jet nozzle.
TIP:
• The round brush attachment is ideal for stains which are very difficult to remove (for example interior paint on the
floor) and for cleaning smooth, hard surfaces such as toilets, sinks, kitchen counters, wheel rims and removing tough
stains of any kind.
