Interface characteristics
INTERBUS interface
The INTERBUS interface physically corresponds to an RS422 interface. It is char-
acterized by the following features:
Protocol
·
Transmission of the INTERBUS protocol
Transmission rates
·
Transmission rates:
500 kbit/s with INTERBUS and
0 to 500 kbit/s with RS422 - systems
Cable connection
·
4-wire
Range of operation
·
Can be used for:
- bus operation (INTERBUS)
- point-to-point connection (RS422)
·
See also Chapters 3.7.2 and 3.7.3
Profibus interface
The Profibus interface (e.g. SINEC L2) physically corresponds to an RS485 interfa-
ce. It is characterized by the following features:
Protocol
·
Transmission of the following Profibus protocols is possible:
- MPI
Multi Point Interface (187.5 kbit/s)
- FMS
Field Message System
- DP
Decentralized periphery
- FMS/DP
Mixed operation
Transmission rates
·
Can be set to all common transmission rates:
in kbit/s
- 9.60
- 19.20
- 38.40
- 57.60
- 93.75
- 187.50
- 375.00
- 500.00

Suconet K interface
Protocol
·
Transmission of the Suconet K, K1 and K2 protocols
Transmission rates
·
Transmission rate of 187.5 kbit/s with Suconet K, K1 and K2
Transmission rate of 375 kbit/s with Suconet K
