• Before you change any switch settings or move any jumpers, power off the compute node. Review the
information in http://thinksystem.lenovofiles.com/help/topic/safety_documentation/pdf_files.html,
“Installation Guidelines” on page 26, “Handling static-sensitive devices” on page 28, and “Power off the
compute node” on page 60.
Switch and jumper functions are as follows:
• All jumpers on the system board are reserved and should be removed.
• All switches should be in the Off position.
• The following table describes the functions of the switches on switch block SW5.

SW5-1 Password override The default position is Off. Changing this switch to the On
position overrides the power-on password.
SW5-2 Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
physical presence The default position is Off. Changing this switch to the On
position indicates a physical presence to the TPM.
SW5-3 CMOS memory The default position is Off. Changing this switch to the On
position indicates to clear CMOS memory.
After clearing the CMOS memory, change the switch back to
Off position to turn on the compute node (see “Power on the
compute node” on page 59 for instructions).
SW5-4 Reserved The default position is Off.
Parts list
Use the parts list to identify each of the components that are available for your compute node.
For more information about ordering the parts shown in Figure 9 “Compute node components” on page 23:
1. Go to http://datacentersupport.lenovo.com and navigate to the support page for your compute node.
2. Click Service Parts .
3. Enter the serial number to view a listing of parts for your compute node.
Note: Depending on the model, your compute node might look slightly different from the illustration.
