System board jumper
The Clear CMOS jumper is used to restore BIOS settings to factory default settings, recover BIOS settings
from a BIOS update failure, or clear a forgotten password.

Jumper cap position Description
Pins 1–2 Default position (Normal state)
Pins 2–3 Short-circuited position (Clear-CMOS state)
Attention: To set the jumper, remove the server cover and gain access to the system board first. Do not
open your server or attempt any repair before reading and understanding Read this first: safety information
and “Getting familiar with important guidelines” on page 39.
