The state of these inputs will determine how or if the press brake can be operated when used
in this application. If both the left and right doors are open, an emergency stop situation would
be invoked by the PCSS and no movement of the pressing beam would occur.
If either left or right doors are opened, machine operation is possible but the pressing beam will
only operate in slow speed while the side door remains open. When this situation occurs, mid-
stroke on down movement, the operator is required to release the down switch control and
operate the down control switch again to move the pressing beam again; however the press
will only operate in crawl speed under this condition. If the either of these doors is then closed
in mid-stroke, the operator is again required to release the down control switch, which will then
allow normal operation of the press brake by the operator. Details of these conditions appear

Software Level Limits
The PCSS kernel constantly monitors the difference in level between encoders Y1 and Y2 for
this option on a dual axis machine.
When a difference of 2mm between encoders Y1 and Y2 values is reached the quick stop
signal
Y03
is deactivated and any further down movement of the pressing beam is prevented
by the PCSS. Up movement is possible to re-level the pressing beam. Pressing the down pedal
will display a

–
Level Fault condition code on the PCSS.
When a difference of 2.5mm between encoder Y1 and Y2 values is reached the quick stop
signal
Y03
is deactivated, emergency stop is activated, mechanical brakes on the Y Axis are
clamped and any further down movement of the pressing beam is prevented by the PCSS. Up
movement is possible to re-level the pressing beam. Pressing the down pedal will display a

–
Level Failure condition code on the PCSS.
