7.2.1 Panel Design

Controls
The control system consists of the following control panels
Power Pack 415V Starter Control Panel
Power Pack PLC Control Panel
Winch Remote I/O Control Panel
Winch Load Cell Display Panel (Remote Power Pack Stop/Start)
Snubber Remote I/O Control Panel
Cavotec Base PLC Panel
Cavotec Joy Stick Control Panel
The control panels are Marine grade Stainless Steel. All inter connections between the
control panels to form the complete control system via marine grade cables and water
proof plugs and sockets.
Control voltages are 110Vac (Transformer Derived) and 24Vdc (Power Supply Derived)
Communications between the various control panels are:-
PLC to Remote I/O Control Panels – Ethernet
PLC to Cavotev PLC – Hardwired via Winch Remote I/O Control Panel
7.2.2 Emergency Stop and Control Interlocks.
The emergency stop circuitry is controlled via a safety relay. All PLC inputs are supplied
from an unprotected 24Vdc supply and remain energised in the event of an emergency
stop. All PLC outputs and the power pack contactors are supplied from the protected
24Vdc supply (ie via the safety relay) and will de-energise in the event of an emergency
stop condition.
